THE WARTH OF RESERVATION SYSTEM-1

The race will never have a person which different in any sense. Race is always between the people who are able to manage their Calibri. Race doesn’t see which person has better speed and who doesn’t have a speed. It begins at the same time and it stops at the same time. Race sees no discrimination. India has been a country for many people of diverse customs and religion.  There has been a concept of discrimination among the people, who don’t belong to the same strata and culture. In the ancient age of India people were discriminated on the basis of caste and creed. To rise above such prejudice Caste Based Reservation was started. According to some people in india , Caste Based Reservation in India started in 2nd century, where upper caste enjoyed caste based reservation. Present reservation system has a long history and has been debated before and after Indian independence from the British in 1947.

Reservations in favour of Backward Classes (BCs) were introduced long before independence in a large area, comprising the Presidency areas and the Princely states south of the Vindhyas. In 1882, Hunter Commission was appointed. Jyotirao Phule made a demand of free and compulsory education for Smrti along with proportionate representation in government jobs.  In 1891, there was a demand for reservation of government jobs with an agitation (in the princely State of Travancore) against the recruitment of non-natives into public service overlooking qualified native people.  In 1901, reservations were introduced in Maharashtra (in the Princely State of Kolhapur) by Shahu Maharaj.  Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj, Maharaja of Kolhapur in Maharashtra introduced reservation in favor of non-Brahmin and backward classes as early as 1902. He provided free education to everyone and opened several hostels in Kolhapur to make it easier for everyone to receive the education. He also made sure everyone got suitable employment no matter what social class they belonged. He also appealed for a class-free India and the abolition of untouchability. The notification of 1902 created 50% reservation in services for backward classes/communities in the State of Kolhapur. This is the first official instance (Government Order) providing for reservation for depressed classes in India.

In 1909, reservations were introduced in favor of a number of castes and communities that had little share in the administration by the British.  There were many other reforms in favor of and against reservations before the Indian Independence itself. The concept of untouchability was not practised uniformly throughout the country; therefore the identification of oppressed classes was difficult to carry out. Allegedly, the practice of segregation and untouchability prevailed more in the northern parts of India as opposed to in Southern India. Furthermore, certain castes or communities, considered "untouchable" in one province were not in other provinces. The primary stated objective of the Indian reservation system is to increase the opportunities for enhanced social and educational status of the underprivileged communities and thus uplift their lifestyle to have their place in the mainstream of Indian society.[13] The reservation system exists to provide opportunities for the members of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribess to increase their political representation in the State Legislatures, the Executive Organ of the Union (Centre) and States, the labour force, schools, colleges, and other public institutions. The Caste Based Reservation system in Indian was created to abolish the bad biased practices in India and for the upliftment of the backward classes.

I agree to the fact that we needed this system back then for solving the issues of the backward classes.

This story will continue, with more views and expression. I am not against this. I am not saying it should be stopped. But change is constant. We need change. I am going to follow this story to express my views.

BE THE CHANGE TO SEE THE CHANGE.

Virtuous Write-up Shreya..yesyes

A person's caliber can never be adjudicated by his caste, race or color. The Caste Based Reservation system was implemented with the intention of eradicating prejudice and creating more opportunities for the backward, scheduled class in India. But now it’s becoming a hurdle for the ones who have flair but still are outlying; the only reason being they are not covered under the reserved quota. Actually because of this discrepancy we are losing our real talent. And this conformist system is badly sabotaging young minds. So, yes change is required not only in the reservation system but also in the people’s thoughts.

If seriously reservation is vital, then it should be done on the basis of economic considerations so that people who are lacking just because of their pecuniary conditions in contributing for the upliftment of the country shall be given the opportunity for making their career bright which will definitely lead to our country’s success.

What’s now happening is well-to-do people belonging to reserved castes or any other class, inspite of having a good environment to study and get into good colleges, getting well employment, youth from these class are found to exploit exactly these reservations.

In my opinion this concept of caste reservation ought to be abolished. In a scholarly society, no one is inferior or superior. No one should ask for the castes. Every person should be treated equally and shall be given equal breaks.

Work shall speak more rather than caste, creed or religion.

Well Shreya!!!

In my own views, a good time has been past and now reservation system is required to our great politicians to keep their politics alive. in reservation categories, many of them are now belongs to medium, rich or super rich categories. Why stil reservation for them?

India needed reservation only after independance to brings all the castes in the mainstream. The true objective of the baba shaib Ambedkar for this reservation system was to give identity and equal standing to the this backward society. But reservation for higher study was never needed. If a person belongs to backward class can complete one's schooling without reservation and bias then why one need to be reserved after that. There can be no school or institute in India where one is stopped entering just because of taking birth in the backward classes.

Our dear brothers and sisters of backward classes, are now self motivated and strong enough to make there future and social identity, why our politicians are giving them a 'RESERVED TAG'.
